In reply to charles. No, you don't have to. The two bands would be broadcasted (Except you disable one) and it would look like you have two wifi routers when you scan it on your devices. You can always connect to which one of the two you want to use.

In reply to Fred. You have to reset the mifi to be able to access the SMS, remove the back cover of the device, use a pin to press and hold the reset button until the light flashes in correspondence, then you can be able to access your SMS.
