VfL Lintorf
VfL Lintorf is a sports club from Lintorf (Bad Essen) . VfL is known for its volleyball teams. The men play in the Liga West , the women play in the regional league.
Already in the 1970s and 1980s, the volleyball men played several times in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga. The national players Ralph Bergmann and Thomas Kröger also came from Lintorf . In 2010, they again managed to get promoted to the second Bundesliga North, where they had to be relegated after just one season. The squad for the 2013/14 season included a former French international, Philippe Quistorf. Since the completion of the new sports hall in Lintorf, the volleyball home games have been played at the indoor pool.
