The Nationalpark – Partner Bayerischer Wald project was launched in autumn 2005 by the National Park administration together with the tourism experts from the districts of Freyung-Grafenau and Regen, as well as the special purpose association of the National Park communities and the Zwieseler Winkel advertising association. The aim of the project is to offer guests in the national park region reliable quality and environmental standards in accommodation and at the same time to provide them with extensive information about the national park and its nature conservation philosophy.

The national park administration actively supports the partner companies with marketing and training activities. Through the joint action of nature conservation and the tourism industry, those involved hope that the region will be marketed to tourists more comprehensively and that the national park will be more widely accepted
