The German Ice Skating Association (DELV) was the national ice sports association of the German Democratic Republic , founded on August 31 , 1958 and based in Berlin . The association included the sections ice hockey , speed skating and curling .
On August 31, 1958 , the association was founded in the club rooms of the TSC Oberschöneweide , in which all ice hockey players, figure and speed skaters as well as the ice shooters were united. Delegates, among them the master of sports Helmut Kuhnert , unanimously elected the previous president of the ice and roller hockey section, Heinz Dragunski from SC Dynamo Berlin, as president . In the submitted annual report, shortcomings and weaknesses of the past were relentlessly revealed. Clear targets for increasing performance were decided on for future work.
